Brent oil rose above $ 70 a barrel on Monday and the price of WTI oil hit its highest level in more than two years. Oil rose following reports of attacks in Saudi Arabia.
Oil infrastructure at the Ras Tanura port in Saudi Arabia became the target of a drone strike on Sunday, and a ballistic missile was launched at the country’s Aramco oil mill, Saudi Arabia’s Energy Ministry said.
The attacked oil depot complex is critical infrastructure for Saudi Arabia’s oil exports.
Later Sunday, ballistic missile fragments fell near the Aramco residential area in Dahran, Saudi Arabia, home to thousands of the company’s employees and families, various citizens, according to the ministry.
The mons were not affected by these attacks, nor was beer made, the Energy Ministry said in a statement.
It does not specify who may have suffered these crashes. According to Reuters, the drone and missile attack was carried out by Yemeni Hui fighters.
