“Lithuania could offer support for possible EU sanctions as soon as Ukraine is ready to share evidence, lists of people who have abused human rights in the currently occupied territories of Crimea and eastern Ukraine,” said the head of the Lithuanian diplomacy at a press conference.

He said this after a meeting with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Kiev.

EU foreign ministers agreed on Monday to add to their supporters four senior Russian officials responsible for the imprisonment and repression of Kremlin critic Alexei Navaln.

In October, the bloc added six officials to the list of sanctions related to the poisoning of A. Navalnas last year with the nerve paralyzing substance Novičiok.

Furthermore, the EU has repeatedly imposed sanctions on Russia in the past for its annexation of Crimea in 2014 and its incitement to war in eastern Ukraine.

During the meeting, Landsberg and Kuleba discussed issues related to pandemic management, vaccination, Ukraine’s European integration, and the situation in Belarus and Russia.
