After performing in the Eurovision final, The Roop shared his emotions, discussed the incident with the Italian and answered whether he would participate in the competition next year.

“Our goal was to win the sympathy of the public who will attend our concerts,” said The Roop, and was pleased that the public gave them the most votes in Lithuanian history. Meanwhile, the commission’s evaluations were less important to men.

When asked if they planned to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest again next year, the group members assured that they had not thought about it yet.

“We never drew a hard line, but we did not say that we will come back here. And this year before we attended, we said let’s see. We have seen Eurovision as a great platform that we can exploit. We wanted to appear before the audience, reach the audience. I feel like now. Other paths open up for us ”, assured the leader of The Roop.

The men did not mention the mistakes made during the show or the preparation, they assured themselves that they had been safe, insured by them even now.

“We have done our homework and we feel professional. We made no mistakes. We wish you patience, stubbornness. As they say, we are on our way ”, smiled the Lithuanians, who took eighth place in the final.

Party lover The Roop returned to the hotel in the evening with the primary goal of relaxing and rejuvenating before embarking on more work.

“We are going to sleep. We have scheduled interviews for tomorrow morning; we will continue with our work. Whether we are in first, fourth or last place, there is a lot of work to be done. We are very happy with 8th place”, although tired, the finalists did not lose their joy.

Reporters also asked about the winner’s possible drug use. The Roop said such a case was nearly impossible at Eurovision, saying it was a marketing tactic.

“I don’t know. There is the word ‘possibly’ and there are interpretations. Still, everything happens very strictly there, even a foot guard stands strictly,” Vaidotas said.

When asked who surprised The Roop the most in the finale, the men mentioned a surprise that surprised many.

“I was surprised that the UK got zero. Germany also got zero undeservedly,” Vaidotas said.

“It just came to our attention then. The Lithuanian flag will continue to be carried,” promised the leader of The Roop to rest before leaving.

This year, The Roop opened a song contest with Discoteque and was the first to take the stage. Fortunately, ours managed to ward off a rampant virus and actually physically appear in front of a million audiences on Tuesday night. Some participants did not smile at such success and their performances are shown in a pre-filmed recording.

The Roop said they wanted to focus on camera work, LED screens. In addition to the technical possibilities, viewers also saw some improved movements on stage.

“We don’t need some fireworks. Our performance is elegant and conceptual, there is no need to sprinkle it with glitter or rose petals,” group leader Vaidotas Valiukevičius assured Delfi before the performance.

The enchanting energy of the stage delighted not only the group members, but their dancers as well. They all wore recognizable yellow suits. The background was dominated by black and purple. A disco ball appeared on the LED screens for a short time, and the floor was “painted” with the motifs of a checkerboard.

One of the innovations in the performance of Discoteque is the somewhat changed movement of V. Valiukevičius on stage. At one point, the leader of the band appeared to take the video camera in his hands, and as the image moved in the background, the dancers could be seen in the background. Such a short episode gave the impression of a home disco filmed over the phone.

Arriving at the conference hosted by Lithuanian journalists before the final performance, members of the group shared their uplifting encouragement and said they had received a call from President Gitanas Nausėda, which gave them hope for the future well-being of the culture.

“The president called and conveyed his wishes, saying that he is currently in the Neringa belt. He conveyed his wishes to the whole group, said that Lithuania no longer looks worse than other countries and is very happy about it. He also wanted us to focus on the show, to enjoy it and not think about places. Support from the tallest person in the state is good. It is not every day that presidents call someone. What we do happens to be at the state level. And I hope the culture is widely recognized at the state level. When it will not be considered a secondary hobby. And it will no longer be the case that when something needs to be cut, it is above all culture. I already mentioned that with in-store promotions, we won’t get very far. We need to see more. The attention of the Prime Minister and the President gave me hope that, as in many countries, culture will finally be taken more seriously, ”said the group’s vocalist Vaidotas Valiukevičius.
