“As of yesterday, both the conservatives and the liberals have been silent, and the information in the published minutes on the collection of financial support from the candidates to the Seimas during the Seimas electoral campaign, the cooperation with the president of the Constitutional Court Dainius Žalimas, proposes doubts about transparency and, in some cases, signs of political corruption, the factions belonging to the coalition ask to dispel the doubts in society and answer the questions, “says the president of the coalition council Ramūnas Karbauskis and presents the questions, which They were officially presented to the leaders of the following parties and associations:
– Do you provide a list of the beneficiaries of the financial assistance mentioned in the published act? Which of these individuals have you already contacted? How much support has been agreed?
– Please provide information on how the meeting took place with the Vice-President of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists V. Janulevičius.
Please indicate the agreed financing amounts and for whom the money is intended.
– What connects Ž. The Cuban flag and unidentified people who were consulted about financial support? Are these the same people as in 2019? In the late 19th century, did you come to Lithuania and try to stop the process of ratifying the EU-Cuba Treaty? If so, wouldn’t you think that financial support in this case amounts to political corruption, when money is received from stakeholders for a political service (an attempt to block a geopolitically significant EU treaty that seeks to change the orientation of Cuba to the West instead of Russia)?
– Do you know the origin of the funds for which Sąjūdis consults with people from Cuba? Is this origin legal and unquestionable, especially considering that the money is requested before the Seimas elections, already during the political campaign?
– Do you think that the practice of rewarding politicians for political actions that hinder the development of democracy in other countries seeking to free themselves from financial, political and other dependencies, such as Cuba from Russia, does not threaten Lithuania’s national security and that country?
– Why does TS-LKD believe that Cuba should not become an independent and democratic state and that Lithuania can avoid this by not signing the EU-Cuba agreement?
– What drafts of legal acts or appeals before the Constitutional Court helped the President of the Constitutional Court to prepare his party and Sąjūdis v. Astravo AE? Did you know that in order to maintain impartiality and objectivity, constitutional judges cannot publicly express opinions on matters that may be considered in Court and, even more, participate in political parties, political organizations and other political activities (article 6 of the Law of the Constitutional Court)? Do you not consider that, by violating this important binding principle for the judges of the Constitutional Court, you have exerted an unlawful influence on the Court and have asked the President of the Court to carry out illegal acts?
