During the previous day, from midnight Friday to Saturday, SBGS officials did not allow 47 immigrants from Belarus to enter unauthorized locations. On Thursday, only one foreigner tried to enter Lithuania in this way. Since the end of June, this was the lowest number of these individuals.
On Wednesday, border guards prevented 61 migrants from entering the country illegally. The number was 28 on Mondays and Tuesdays, 49 on Sundays, and 40 on Saturdays.
On the last day, no illegal immigrant was admitted to Lithuania.
At the border in the southern part of Lithuania, cannon shots were heard again on Friday several times on the Belarusian side. It is believed that shootings are still taking place at the Goza landfill in the neighboring country.
The use of service weapons, special measures or physical coercion by Lithuanian border guards and the soldiers helping them was lost last day. Border control on the Lithuanian side is carried out under a reinforced regime.
