According to the investigation, at a time when the woman was about to say goodbye, the man started the violence, so when he felt a real threat, he secretly called the General Assistance Center and began asking others for help.
The women passing by responded to the call for help and called the police officers. The assistance of witnesses and the swift actions of the officers helped to quickly identify the suspect who had escaped from the scene.
On July 14, the Klaipėda District Court found JS guilty of a serious crime and sentenced him to 3 years and 9 months in prison. According to the court ruling, the convicted woman must also compensate with a thousand euros for moral damage.
This court decision can be appealed within 20 days.
