“I can certainly express my support, my gratitude to the medical staff, but I must say that the blame for not complying with these demands and preparations cannot be blamed on the Government either, because I believe that the public also has to bear part of the blame for what what is happening”. V. Adamkus told LRT radio.

“Society itself is to blame here, because it has to follow the established rules and cooperate. And as recent research has shown, a significant number of people have completely ignored what the government was announcing, “he added.

Therefore, the President emphasizes that in this difficult situation, citizens must follow the instructions and restrictions adopted.

“It may not have been fully prepared, but due to the lack of preparation and the consequences that we have today, society must also take responsibility (responsibility – ELTA). The public must be obedient, accept professionally determined and binding instructions, and follow them. Then, through joint efforts, we will get out of the situation that prevails today in our country, ”said the outgoing president.

“When there are 1000 cases a day in our country, it is only a consequence of the reactions of the general public, actions, non-compliance with certain requirements,” he emphasized.

We remind you that today, Tuesday, President Adamkus celebrates his 94th birthday.
