The punishment period also includes the period since he was arrested last October, for which Gediminas Beržinskas will have to spend another year and a half behind bars.

Judge Jurgita Mačionytė, who examined the case, declared that G. Beržinskas had been found guilty of drafting a terrorist act, illegal possession of explosives and firearms, and attempting to commit a crime.

He was sentenced to a year and a half in prison in a penitentiary for these crimes. As the case was processed through an expedited procedure, this penalty was reduced by one third.

A formerly illegal guy pleaded guilty, apologized, testified, and helped uncover the circumstances of the incident during the trial. The judge also noted that the case did not establish that his actions were directed at human victims.

Prosecutors were serving a four-year prison sentence for the boy in a correctional facility.

G. Beržinskas, born in 1999, left a homemade explosive on the walls of the building on J. Balčikonio Street in Vilnius, where the international company Western Union is located, on October 6 last year. This did not explode due to lack of knowledge of the manufacturer.

The young man also sprayed the words “FK DIVISION”, “SIEGE” and the swastika sign on the wall of the building with black paint.

Mr. Beržinskas was arrested on October 15 during a special operation involving Aro officials.

A high-explosive explosive and chemicals ready to be detonated were found in his home, withdrawn from illicit circulation, from which a self-propelled high-explosive mechanism can be made.

The search also found a homemade firearm suitable for shooting and parts of a Category C weapon, extremist and National Socialist literature, and symbolism of far-right views.

According to the police, the guy classifies himself as a group of far-right extremists in the Feuerkrieg Division.
