A unique object is planned in one of the most popular places in the capital of Aukštaitija: a floating fountain is planned to be installed

“We have established a goal to renovate and adapt various public spaces in the city to the needs of the community. This week we are signing the third contract, which shows that we will continue our promises to the residents of Panevėžys. We hope that the embellished public spaces of both Senvagė and the House of Commons will contribute to the creation of human well-being, the aesthetic value of the city and the vitality of the recreational environment, “says Kazimieras Armonavičius, Deputy Director of the Municipal Administration of the Panevėžys city.

During the implementation of the House of Commons Public Spaces project, it is planned to organize the territory not only near the institution itself, but also on Kranto str. section (from February 16 to Anykščiai g). Pedestrian and bicycle trails, Kranto str. asphalt pavement (between P. Puzino and Anykščių st.), lighting, maintained parking (many parking places together), footbridge over Nevėžis, installed or renovated green areas, small architectural elements, part of rainwater networks.

The value of the construction works is 2.4 million. Eur, the financing will be provided in accordance with the Operational Program of Investment of Funds of the European Union for 2014-2020 “Integrated Development of Large Cities”. Duration of the works: 8 months from the date of entry into force of the contract.

After renovating the fountain in Senvagė, the new one will be musical, lights, projections. According to the programmed algorithm, it is expected to show a performance lasting approximately one hour, in which the source currents will be played synchronously at the same time, music will be played, the underwater lighting of the currents will change and be projected an image on the water screen.

The fountain will have a fan-shaped stream of water, about 18 m high and 36 m in diameter. The video projections will be approximately 600 square meters / m in area.

The current 12 m high Senvagė fountain was installed in 1972, during the reconstruction of Senvagė.
