March 3 around 9 pm Everard, 33, left a friend in South London and disappeared.

In search of the missing woman, London police found her body in the Kent area, in a forest near the town of Ashford.

Mr. Couzens, a police officer from the diplomatic and parliamentary security team, was absent the night of Mr. Everard’s disappearance.

The case shocked the whole of the UK and raised questions about the safety of women, to the outrage of politicians and public figures.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson previously said that the event shocked and saddened him.

“Like all the people of the country, I am in thoughts with his family and friends. We have to work fast and find all the answers about this horrible crime,” he wrote on Twitter.
