A Belarusian citizen who worked as a driver at a freight forwarding company and had a residence permit in Lithuania was arrested by police officers in April. Authorities had already received information that a truck was maneuvering strangely in the Vilnius district. After stopping the car at the Avižieniai village exit to the Ukmergė highway, police officers determined that the concentration of alcohol in the air exhaled by the driver was 2.79 per thousand. The man could not explain why he decided to drive to the store with a truck belonging to the company, reports the Attorney General’s Office.
Considering that the person admitted his guilt, sincerely regretted his actions and that the circumstances of committing the criminal activity were clear, the prosecutor of the Vilnius District Prosecutor’s Office, who was leading the pre-trial investigation, proposed to end the process with a criminal court order.
