A location from which the pollutants flowed was reported Thursday. It turned out that on a non-residential farm, barrels with a capacity of approximately 200 liters were buried underground, with suspected diesel. Uncapped glass bottles with liquid of unknown origin.
According to the mayor of the Kretinga district, Antanas Kalnius, the owner of the plot is dead. The rest are grandmother, but she is a respectable age and it is difficult to talk to her. Other family members who know something will be sought.

It is believed that it was used for heating. During the courtyard, glass bottles with liquids of various capacities were also found. Many bottles were hidden underground and workers collected a container full of them. Experts will investigate what type of liquid is bottled.
As the district mayor said, they tried to talk to the neighbors. They remembered the host, but no one suspected what he was hiding underground.
“It just came to our notice then. Steps have been taken to prevent contaminants from entering the drain. A barrier has been installed on the hood,” said A. Kalnius. Two huge barrels were erected. But there is more on his farm.
The mayor has not yet decided the extent of the damage caused. Now awaiting expert conclusions on what type of liquid is bottled. Then a decision will be made on how to eliminate the source of contamination.
According to the Department of Environmental Protection, the investigation is ongoing. The police were called to the scene, as well as a specialist from the Fire and Rescue Service to take contamination measures.
