An AL Russian national, who arrived in Lithuania in a Volvo truck from the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation via the Kybartai roadside checkpoint, told customs officials that he was carrying shipments of shellfish. During the customs check of the truck, customs officials found illegally transported drugs in the cabin of the car, hidden under the passenger seat and among personal belongings, reports the Kaunas Territorial Customs.
The discovery of contraband drugs revealed that 1936 packaging units of various drugs were hidden in the cabin of the car: Aciklovir, Nimesulid, Ortofen, Omeprazole, Kaptopril, Amoxicillin, Biseptol, the total value of which mandatory taxes – 1018 euros.
Customs officers confiscated the drugs and wrote an arrest report for the offender. The driver faces a fine and the confiscation of illegally transported drugs for smuggling.
