“Due to the current artificial escalation of the situation, the staged slander and the campaign of disgusting lies, which also includes the highest authorities, I refuse to run for the position of Vice President of the LFF.
I do not want the falsehood to spread publicly to my personal address, to develop conspiracy theories that interfere with the activities of the organization and potentially undermine the authority of the soccer community.
At the same time, I will not accept that some politicians, in flagrant violation of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, the Law on Associations and other legal acts, begin to interfere directly in public affairs under the guise of public interest.
I never elevate my ego and my personal ambitions above the aspirations and goals of our football communities.
The result is important to me, so I will always be where I am needed most.
Soccer will always be above any intrigue, political manipulation or collusion.
Soccer is for everyone and it will never depend on a handful of politicians, although they would like it very much. It will not belong to those actors who see football only as a source of selfish profit. These people, who have lost access to the barracks, are desperately trying to instigate politicians, blackmailing me and the entire football movement in Lithuania in every possible way.
The posts themselves have never been of value to me.
A person should speak for his actions, not for his duties. Therefore, I will continue to be an active member of the football community, my initiatives and work will contribute to the strengthening of this sport in our country.
The lie spread in my direction will be civilly denied and the clients and perpetrators of these attacks unmasked.
I want to wish the newly elected leaders of the LFF to listen, to have coherence and energy. And may the entire soccer community remain united and independent, “wrote A. Pukelis.

A.Pukelis was elected Second Vice President of LFF in April 2019, replacing Anatolijus Stecenko. During the conference, the businessman collected 60 votes from 71 delegates.
Tauragiškis, 52, is currently also the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee of the LFF. He is also the president of the Tauragė football county and will remain on the LFF executive committee.
It will be recalled that this year he tried unsuccessfully to join the LTOK Executive Committee.
“He never made decisions that would harm the federation. Why did you decide that? Here he can already say for himself. But Arūnas remains in the federation, remains in the executive committee, remains in the responsible position of chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee. He makes decisions just for football, ”Lomas president Tomas Danilevičius said at a press conference on Thursday.
Until now, Vidmantas Butkevičius has been the first vice president of LFF and Gediminas Daukšys was the third vice president.
The new vice presidents were elected during the Executive Committee meeting on Thursday. Nemunas Dagilis, director of the Utena County Soccer Federation, was elected first vice president.
Mindaugas Bondauskis (Telšiai County) and Rimantas Žvingilas (Klaipėda County) fought for the second vice-president position. Telšiškis won in an open vote.
Jan Nevoina, president of League A, became the third vice president.
