Judge Julita Dabulskytė-Raizgienė announced that A. Dambrauskas’ guilt had been proven not only by the testimony of victim K. Meidė, witnesses and secret audio recordings, but also by the position of the accused during the preliminary investigation and judicial proceedings.
A. Dambrauskas has previously been sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison for a convicted person (his sentence has disappeared), but his execution was partially postponed and it was established that the convicted person would be obliged to immediately serve a sentence of 2 years in prison. Sentence months are suspended for a period of 3 years. When he is released, A. Dambrauskas must comply with the obligations imposed by the court: work or register with the Employment Service, not leave the city (district) of the place of residence without the permission of the institution that supervises the convicted person.
The court also prohibited A. Dambrauskas from approaching K. Meidė within 200 meters, as well as communicating and seeking contact with her in any way. In addition, you will have to pay the victim 6 thousand. compensation for non-material damage, although K. Meid su asked his former friend to pay 50 thousand EUR.
The judge who examined the criminal case also decided that A. Dambrauskas would have to pay 3.3 thousand. Eur for the services provided by the attorney representing K. Meide. Two mobile phones and a computer were also confiscated; the court determined that they were criminal tools.
The verdict handed down by the Vilnius Regional Court can still be appealed: A. Dambrauskas believes that he was wrongly convicted and sentenced to a real prison term, so this verdict is likely to be appealed. Both the victim and the prosecution may appeal the sentence.
In private hearings, the court found that A. Dambrauskas had sent ambiguous text messages to the then CEO of Maxima LT, and then to her colleagues, in April and May of last year and demanded to be employed by the company run by K. Meidė as Head of the Security Department, and when not designated for this position, pay 18 thousand. EUR. Not having received this money, the man threatened to publish compromising images of K. Meidė about his personal life.
When Meidė approached law enforcement officers for help, they gave her sound recording equipment: the woman who met with A. Dambrauskas was convinced that the man actually had a compromising video, because it showed a fragment of it. In addition, A. Dambrauskas explained that he has more recordings of this type and threatened to publish it in the media. The woman refused to pay the money, explaining that she simply did not have that much, but hinted in negotiations that she wanted a guarantee that the record would not be made public in the future if the money was paid. A. Dambrauskas gave him time to think, but that same night he ordered the transfer of an advance of 500 euros to his bank account before midnight and that he write the word “thank you” for the payment.
K. Meidė did so and the next day he was arrested by police officers. A. Dambrauskas was arrested and spent more than four months in the Lukiškės remand at that time. The walls of the catwalk of the detainees here were covered with walls: a woman was drawn, the address of K. Meidė’s house, her workplace and other personal data were written here. As a result, the victim was subsequently forced to change residence.
A. Dambrauskas, who was brought to justice, did not admit guilt. The man explained that K. Meidė was his friend with whom he had communed for about a year and a half. The man assured that K. Meidė had never been asked for money and that the amount indicated during the interview was only “his thoughts were expressed.”
The defendant said that by expressing his reasoning, he simply wanted to hurt his friend, who was already in that moment, and felt sorry for the time he had spent with her. In addition, A. Dambrauskas assured that he was entitled to K. Meid Me’s claim for compensation for the alleged grievances, since he had received repeated insults “for his insufficient social status”, and was also disappointed with this declaration of alleged values.
A. Dambrauskas, who works as a taxi driver, is also a physical trainer and provides the services of a coach privately, – he said that this is exactly how he met K. Meide: after writing him a message on Facebook, she offered him her services . Later, their relationship grew closer, but after a while they broke up.
In the criminal case, data was collected that A. Dambrauskas was looking for ways to make public the video that compromised K. Meidė; the man told friends that he had contacted the address of a news outlet, and just before his arrest during a secretly recorded conversation, K. Meidei hinted that he will not remove the money from the envelope, as these can be marked, so it is better to “pass wool And you will receive a solid amount.
The then CEO of Maxima, who was recognized as a victim in the criminal case, was questioned in court in a private hearing. It was the only time he appeared in the courtroom; their interests were represented by an attorney in other hearings.
“Because of my job, I asked to be allowed to stay, because of what happened, I have to experience stress every time, before Delphi K. Meidė said. – The extortion case has nothing to do with the company, it has to do with my personal life, my personal resources. I really want all women to know that sometimes funny guys aren’t necessarily what they are. “
The woman admitted that she had met A. Dambrauskas during physical training and had a very close relationship with him. “They were close enough, they were really friendly until things turned in a completely different direction and he threatened to go public with my personal information,” Meide said.
He claimed that he had contacted the police before transferring part of the money demanded by A. Dambrauskas.
“I didn’t see any reason to pay money to a criminal, I read similar stories, they always come back after spending money,” said K. Meidė.
The woman admitted that the story she got into was quite unpleasant, but it wasn’t over yet.
“You have to remember the details and tell them, which is really unpleasant, especially since I’m 45 years old and I’ve read stories like that in books and articles, I’ve seen movies, thrillers, and I never thought I’d have to experience it myself.” Delphi previously said by K. Meidė. – I can’t say it’s all over, because now that I’m telling you and in court for the second time I’m going through the same thing – it’s, it’s very difficult, believe me. And even when he couldn’t even think and expect something like that from someone he has a really friendly relationship with. “
“I suffered a lot of damage because I had to change the apartment, because there are countless criminals there and you don’t know when they will leave and when they will remember the address,” he learned from the Vilnius municipality when his address was available to people incarcerated in Lukiškės. They took pictures of the prison walls after visiting the prison.
K. Meidė no longer works for Maxima LT, he resigned from this position in mid-March, shortly after the information about the criminal case under examination in court was made public.
K. Meidė is not the only representative of the Maxima retail chain, who was asked for money for not publishing compromising information. A criminal case was heard in the Vilnius Regional Court, in which Ignas Staškevičius, a VP Group shareholder, was also recognized as a victim: his former driver and his spouse, who worked in the pharmacy network as a commercial director, demanded up to 1 , 5 million. EUR. I. Staškevičius had paid up to 312 thousand. Eur, and when asked for even more money, the man turned to the police for help.
