“We like the fact that it allows us to work longer, we can sell more, but why the time – what an argument – we have not heard, we do not know, we do not understand. Another thing is a passport to opportunities. It allows entry, but for whom then that time limit, “Raimondas Pranka told the BNS news agency on Wednesday.
“We understand that the passport of opportunities is not only an incentive for companies, but also for residents, to get vaccinated and tested, so if they are vaccinated and tested, they receive normal services from us, not with restrictions” added.
R.Pranka also pointed out that nightclubs will continue to be unable to work, which is why they are discriminated against.
“There is no talk about why nightclubs are eliminated anywhere. Why do they suffer if the events can also be held indoors,” asked the president of the association.
The working hours of public catering establishments, restaurants, cafes and bars will increase from one hour to next week; until 10 pm, five people will be able to sit at a table instead of two. In addition, all those with COVID-19 immunity or under 16 years of age will be admitted.
These mitigations will continue to disable nightclubs. Catering is also allowed in hotels.
The government also allowed more people to gather on Wednesdays, saunas and swimming pools to operate more freely, supermarkets on weekends, and more spectators to participate in outdoor events.
The decision was disappointing
Evalda Šiškauskienė, president of the Lithuanian Hotel and Restaurant Association, says the decision was disappointing as it wanted to allow working hours to be extended to 23 hours.
He also criticized the decision that visitors still cannot be served inside.
“We were very disappointed because we see that restaurants are much more prepared than supermarkets, and the admitted person, sitting safely at the table, does not really pose a threat to anyone 2 years away.
Even more frustrating is the strange time change, because now that it is until 9 pm all visitors are lost from 6 to 9 pm, so it is very difficult to call so many waiters and work 2-3 hours ” , Eta told Eta .Šiškauskienė.
“We ask that the working hours be extended to 23 hours and not replaced, because it is necessary to cancel the downtime of the people, it is necessary to plan the work.” That game is very sad when it lasts an hour ”, added the president of the association.
She saw the changes in restrictions on pool services as a relief for hotels.
“There is a bit of relief here and with the Passport of Opportunities, I think there will be more liberalization of activities. Now that one or two people are swimming in the pool, it is a tragedy in economic terms. It is necessary to heat the water, to provide a service to the person who arrived at the spa hotel. It is a really great loss for companies “, commented the interlocutor.
By government decision, pool services can be provided to a maximum of 50 people (excluding service providers), guaranteeing 20 m2. meters of service area per person, visitor registration and other security measures.
For group workouts, there can be a maximum of 5 people per pool lane (excluding service providers).
With an Opportunity Passport, these restrictions would not apply.
Sauna services are allowed in all places, limiting the number of people to 2 people or providing services to members of a family or household, and when sauna services are provided only to people who have an Opportunity Passport, the number of people is not limited.
