A novelty for drivers: a recognized foreign insurance document is changing, an important detail

“The green card in each country provides the insurance coverage required by that country’s legislation. This is a mandatory document that must be kept by all drivers traveling abroad. Although the green card loses its distinctive color, its format does not changes, it is only adaptable for a more convenient printing. Therefore, in case of concluding a compulsory insurance contract or the loss of insurance documents, you will no longer need to worry about its withdrawal. Drivers will receive it by email and will be able to print it on a clean sheet of white paper, ”says Algimantas Križinauskas, Director of the Office of Automobile Insurers of the Republic of Lithuania.

It is important to note that for those who cannot print the document, insurers will send the green card by post or deliver it upon arrival at the branch.

The Director of the Office of Insurers points out that the green card must be presented to inspectors on paper in foreign countries, not in electronic format, but on paper.

“The black and white green card must be printed on a clean sheet of white paper, the text must be clearly legible and not stained with printer ink. The other side of the document is blank; otherwise, the insurance document may be declared invalid, ”says A. Križinauskas.
