“I think the main challenge is for designers, although they are already very good at mastering A ++ class building design technologies. (…) When the requirement to build A ++ class houses arises, 50 percent The energy required for the building to function as intended must be produced by the building itself.
This is where the biggest challenge for designers is choosing the most flexible option, as equipment efficiency varies depending on the size of the building. For this reason, it is very important to choose such a composition so that the owner of the building does not suffer significant losses, “he told Eltai.
According to D. Gedvilas, although the price of class A ++ buildings may be higher by around 70%, their cheaper maintenance compensates the initial investment.
“These buildings can cost around 70 percent more expensive, (…) but the fact is that these buildings consume less heat during their useful life, so the initial investment is not so great: it is cheaper to maintain the new houses, ”he said.
However, the LSA president noted that the operation of A ++ buildings may require additional specialized assistance each year due to complex engineering solutions.
“It is worth mentioning that the owner’s own skills and knowledge will sometimes not be sufficient to maintain such buildings, it may be necessary to hire specialists to help with engineering systems. The equipment is becoming more complex, so it may be that the builder I have to invite specialists several times a year to carry out a certain operational inspection of the equipment, ”said D. Gedvilas.
“Adequate measures are needed in larger buildings, and there are some nuances to the additional costs that can be incurred in running a building,” he added.

Speaking about the preparation of employees in the construction sector, D. Gedvilas stated that many people do not lack the competence to construct A ++ buildings, but pointed out that there is still a shortage of highly qualified specialists in the market.
“Certain competencies are really necessary so that both workers and engineering personnel are prepared to build such structures, they know the engineering system. (…) However, the training of specialists in energy efficiency started probably five years ago. And although we really have many specialists, (…) the market needs more and more highly qualified experts, ”he told Eltai.
As of January 1, the energy efficiency class of all new buildings must be at least A ++.
In buildings of energy class A ++ at least 50 percent. The energy must be produced using renewable energy sources (biofuels, wind, solar, geothermal, heat pumps).
Higher requirements apply to heat recovery ventilation systems, as well as to the thermal properties of partitions and partitions and mezzanines that separate the autonomous heat sources installed in premises or apartments.
