For those coming from the UK, either a test or self-isolation
“The time is too short for us to draw conclusions, but it is obvious that the mobility of the population has decreased and this has had a small but influential effect on the spread of the virus in Lithuania,” said A. Bilotait dijo at a press conference on Monday.
According to her, on the basis of these data, the SESC decided to request periodic information on the effectiveness of quarantine management measures, which would allow the commission to make new decisions “on the hardening or relaxation of the situation.
The land route issue has also been considered for people coming from the UK.
“We first discussed the situation, how it would be controlled and how it would be regulated. At present, the current regime already requires that people coming from the UK take a test and, if not, that they are in self-isolation.”
According to her, certain control measures of the State Border Guard Service were agreed, so that the border guards could ask the newcomers to present the results of COVID-19, the detailed procedure must be presented by the Head of SBGS Renatas Požėla .
Only family members or two people in the car
A.Bilotaitė also claimed that the so-called “dress rehearsal” before the holidays, when officials controlled the movement of the population more strictly over the weekend, was a success, but when certain shortcomings became apparent, they became proposals to the Government to review quarantine regulations.
“First of all, it’s about the number of people in the cars. It is today that we have made a proposal to the Government that the car should not have more than two people or members of a family farm. Another proposal is related to the problems that have arisen in the municipalities of the ring, ”said A.Bilotaitė.
According to her, the challenges for people who live in the area but work in the city have also been taken into account.
“We are proposing to adjust this procedure so that in the future it does not pose the same challenges for us this weekend,” the minister said.
In circular municipalities – free movement
The State Emergency Commission (WESC) proposes not to restrict the movement of residents between cities and districts in the municipalities of the ring.
As Renatas Požėla, Commissioner General of the Police, said at a press conference after the WESC meeting on Monday, this is proposed in light of the problems that arose during the inspections of the population movement over the weekend.
“We can really see that the people are massively connected – the inhabitants of the city with the district and vice versa, they have real estate – the same gardens. We have seen a massive legal movement from the cities to the districts, just as we see that many residents live in the district or work in the city and vice versa (…), we have seen that the residents of the district need certain services from the administrations city publics, ”said R .Požėla.
“Seeing this issue, we proposed to submit a request to the Government through the WEU, so that perhaps the city and the district would be treated as a territorial unit and the same quarantine conditions would apply. I’d say there would be more logic than there is now, ”said R. Požėla.
According to the Chief of Police, the introduction of alternative fuses “would not liberalize, but it would make more sense and avoid traffic jams.”
