“It is good to see Grigiškės, a center of attraction and meetings for the Grigiškės community, reborn and more life in the district. The city is growing, changing, it is fun that together with these changes, the transformation of the areas is taking place residential and management works: there is more quality, public spaces, more space for mutual communication, orderly infrastructure, green oases. We also plan to manage the environment of the Grigiškės church to make it more beautiful and welcoming, “said Remigijus Šimašius, the mayor of the capital, who met with the community.
In the nearly 1 hectare public space around the church, the territory has already been tidied up, filled with wells, repaired curbs, sprinkled with gravel and planted lawns, according to the Vilnius municipality report. A landscaping project has already been developed, according to which a well-kept square with leisure areas and walkways will be established next to the church. With city funds, the necessary infrastructure will be installed, greenery will be planted, and lighting will be installed. Some 25 benches and a playground are planned for Skvere. A plaza is provided for community events and celebrations.
The Parish Priest of Grigiškės Parish, Priest Andžejus Andžejevskis, thanked the Vilnius City Municipality and the Mayor for the beautiful new space of the future.
The capital city municipality will carry out the design and construction works for the installation of the public space on its own. Later, all equipment and infrastructure will be delivered to the Church of the Holy Spirit in Grigiškės for free. The new plaza is scheduled to be completed next year. The municipality allocates more than 540 thousand. euros.

Grigiškės Holy Spirit Parish was established in 1992, and in 1995 the rectory with a chapel was consecrated. In 2016 the first stone was laid and the construction of the church began.
According to the data of the Archdiocese of Vilnius, the Church of the Holy Spirit of Grigiškės is the eighth church built in the Archdiocese of Vilnius after the Renaissance.
