Andy Stone, Facebook’s director of public relations policy, said the account of the person involved in the incident had been deleted and the incident was under investigation.
The main buildings of the Library of Congress, the seat of the Supreme Court of the United States and at least one of the three buildings of the House of Representatives were evacuated by the threat of explosion.
The Republican National Committee was also reportedly evacuated and the South Capitol subway station was closed.
The White House said that Biden had been informed of the incident.
