According to border guards, the detainee is a Russian citizen with a residence permit in Estonia.

Russia has announced its international search for an economic crime through Interpol channels.

On Tuesday night, a man born in 1969 flew to Vilnius from Vilnius. The border guards who searched the passengers were suspected for their documents, so the man was detained and excluded from the total flow of passengers.

After a detailed review, officials found the man was wanted, but had already left the airport and left the documents with border guards.

Border guards, who immediately began searching for the man, discovered that he had left Vilnius using taxi services.

A few hours later, a taxi driver was detained at the border with Latvia, and officers passed this data on to Latvian border guards.

With the help of the police, the wanted man was arrested on Wednesday afternoon near Daugavpils.

Due to the actions of border guards working at Vilnius airport, the SBGS started an internal inspection.
