Julia’s son has fully recovered and, in addition to the coronavirus, the woman suffered from sinusitis, stronger than usual. So the moment I was talking to Delphi A journalist from the portal on the phone, she did not feel healthy: she had a mild fever and was taking antibiotics prescribed by her doctor.
The son got sick first
The woman recalls that her son developed the first symptoms and speculates that she herself contracted COVID-19 from her son.
Julia does not know where and under what circumstances the child could have been infected with the coronavirus. At the time of her illness, there were no restrictions in Lithuania and the son was in contact with many people: both other children and adults.
“It just came to our attention then. We felt the taste and the smell all the time, but through the lungs, this disease, you know, brings cruelty. The pain and the sensation are the same as with pneumonia: difficulty inhaling. , difficulty in exhaling. That virus immediately affected the lungs, “said Julia.
His son also began to complain that his chest hurt.
The woman assured that the symptoms were certainly not similar to those of the common flu: “Let those who say that the coronavirus is the same as the common flu do not fantasize. Definitely not. The symptoms were much stronger. I have chronic sinusitis. The coronavirus apparently activated it for me right away. I am still recovering from sinusitis, I walk with the temperature for the fourth week, ”said the woman, who was glad that at least the child’s illness had disappeared.
Taking a test is a terrible procedure
When the symptoms of the coronavirus appeared, Julia called her family doctors. She immediately suspected that Julia and the boy would be infected with the coronavirus, so she sent the doctors home, who quickly took them both to a mobile point for tests.

Nasopharyngeal sampling, as Julia recalled, was a very unpleasant procedure, especially for a child. No one would want to repeat that.
“When you do that test on the little ones, there is something terrible. I was very afraid of my son: she is already very sensitive to me, ”said Julia.
Responses to the survey were sent by SMS. Positive for both.
Julia was not surprised. And she herself suspected that she might have been infected with the coronavirus. Very aware of this disease. An acquaintance family of four in Klaipėda also suffered from it. The head of the family, a 42-year-old man, and his son even lay in resuscitation. For the man, the disease affected the heart muscle. Julia herself also felt: the disease was crossing abruptly through the heart. It involves severe pain.
Food was left on the windowsill
]Julia and her son were also in intensive care, but later it was even decided to allow both of them to receive treatment at home.
“Since we only live in two private houses with the boy, and I still work from home, we were able to receive treatment outside the hospital. We had a man who brought us food, medicine, everything we needed and left it on the windowsill, and we took it, ”the woman recalled.

Of course, there is no specific treatment for the coronavirus. Only symptoms are treated.
“There is no specific treatment. We only drank tea if the temperature rose, take the medicine. We also strengthened immunity.
Some people infected with coronavirus, as far as I know, have diarrhea. They have to take medications to control diarrhea and restore minerals, ”said Julia.
When asked what she thought might have led to a more severe course of the disease, Julia thought it could be due to weakened immunity: in the summer, both they and their son had something similar to rotavirus.
One and a half kilograms of salt per week
Although, as mentioned, neither Julia nor her son have lost their taste or smell, she has acquaintances who have experienced the latter symptom.
“I know of a couple who lost both their sense of smell and taste when they contracted the coronavirus. Initially they did not understand what was happening. As I did not feel the taste of food at all, I ate a kilo and a half of salt a week, with which I tried to season the food, “said the interlocutor.
After confessing, he was attacked.
When Julia posted about herself and her son’s illness on Facebook, she received not only sympathy, but also a major attack, mostly from people she didn’t know. The woman was accused of developing the disease and there was no coronavirus.

The reaction of the people surprised Julia a bit and she did not expect such an attack.
“Maybe people don’t know it, aren’t they facing it themselves? Although there are already so many cases and already many should have their people who have been infected in the environment. But not everyone feels the symptoms, “Julia said.
The woman anxiously observes the deterioration of morbidity in Lithuania. She is particularly terrified that the virus will not affect many older people, who are the hardest hit by the coronavirus, and sometimes exposure to it is even fatal.
