The Chicago Bulls have a new head coach. Team Vice President of Basketball Operations Artūras Karnišovas entrusted these duties Billy Donavanui.

The American, who will replace Jim Boylen in the Bulls’ strategist chair, previously worked for the Thunder club in Oklahoma, with which he stood up even after a good season and reached the playoffs of the National Basketball Association (NBA ).

“I am happy to have the opportunity to join forces with Arthur, because together we will work in a historic team,” said the strategist.

The Lithuanian did not spare the kind words of his chosen candidate, who congratulated him on his arrival in the windy city.

“We are happy to welcome Billy and his family to Chicago. The success of a coach’s career distinguishes him from other candidates. We believe that their ability to exploit the potential of the players, both individually and as a team, will fit perfectly with our current line-up. “Billy has always won as a player and as a coach and we hope that he will take him to Chicago as well,” said A. Karnišovas.

Donovan has been training for the Thunder for five years, reaching the playoffs every year, though he has only crossed the first leg once, marching to the Western Conference finals in his first season. Overall, he posted a high 61 percent win in the NBA (243/157).

While still playing at the University of Providence, Donovan twice won the National Association of Collegiate Athletics (NBA) Champion, then briefly competed for the New York Knicks, ending his professional career at just 24 years old. He then joined the University of Kentucky Coaching Corps (1989-1994), training for Marshall (1994-1996) and Florida (1996-2015) universities before moving on to the NBA.
