Riots broke out at the Alien Registration Center (URC) on Wednesday night. The assembled group of migrants began to behave aggressively, and soon the officers guarding the place had to use not only tear gas, but also fire two warning shots into the air.

A.Bilotaitė stated that the riots should also be of concern to the Department of State Security.

“It just came to our attention then. The Department of State Security must pay attention, because those structures and trends raise questions,” said A.Bilotaitė. He stressed that Lithuania “does not intend to allow the passage of illegal migration. throughout our country. “A.Bilotaitė emphasized that it actively cooperates with international institutions and ministers of the interior of other countries.

According to the minister, the malaise arose when the migrants began to resent their situation. According to her, it is perfectly understandable that they did not want to come to Lithuania, and the target was other European countries.

“Then his anger arises, but we have to keep the community safe. We really create the conditions that guarantee human rights. But this is not a 5-star hotel or a spa center, said A. Bilotaitė. – People are dissatisfied. Currently, the arrests are pending in court. This is due to the fact that people cannot move freely from the territory once a detention decision has been made. This is the main reason they are dissatisfied. In the past, it was practice for such people to be able to move freely and leave. They were taken over by these organized criminal structures, but then, for example, they were arrested in Poland and returned to us by Poland. “

A.Bilotaitė revealed that the URC had an exceptional situation among refugees.

“Speaking with officials and residents today, one has to understand that there are certain subcultures, a certain hierarchy. There are still certain things in the mindset and it works. It is important for us to have translators as soon as possible. We have to be prepared for any situation, ”he said.

Headdress in the Belarusian regime

During his visit to the URC on Thursday, A.Bilotaitė emphasized that it is necessary to mobilize the maximum forces to control illegal migration.

“Obviously, with the increase in illegal migratory flows, there may be more than one challenge and a similar situation, but it must be made clear that people are responsible for what is happening, they are dissatisfied, it is the responsibility of the organizers who organized those people. the arrival of the Belarusian regime, which participates very actively in it, “A. Bilotaitė told reporters on Thursday.

According to her, it was agreed to update the preparedness plans, include more officials from the Ministry of the Interior and the assistance of experts from other countries was also important.

In addition, according to the minister, there is a grouping of subcultures among migrants and the formation of a certain hierarchy, so it is important to have translators and secure communication with migrants as soon as possible.

“We are already in talks with the European Union Agency for Refugees and Support, which is ready to help us, now we are putting a clear need for what we need. First of all, there are translators and other expert help, because other countries have a lot of that experience and they plan to share it with us, ”said the Minister.
