Last Tuesday noon, 18 Lithuanian citizens between the ages of 21 and 63 were repatriated from Vilnius, the capital of England, to Vilnius. They already served their sentences in England for their crimes and were later deported.

The returnees were accompanied by 52 English officials. Other than the crew, there were no other passengers on the plane, SBGS reports.

Upon reaching the plane’s staircase, border guards presented Lithuanian citizens with their transport to the border barrier at Vilnius airport. English officials did not get off the plane and soon flew back.

In Lithuania, the search for a deportee, a resident of Marijampolė, was also announced. The Marijampolė police were looking for him. The man has been detained by border guards and will be handed over to a police convoy.

After documentary checks and interviews, other returnees were released. COVID-19 testing was conducted on the 18 Lithuanians in England prior to departure. The test results were negative.
