A company report said several dozen people stormed a Kara White refinery Tuesday afternoon, processing gold and silver alloys into refined gold and silver.

Kyrgyzstan is in deep confusion following the disputed parliamentary elections last weekend.

Kyrgyzaltyn noted that it is not yet known whether these people are party supporters, nor whether they have filed any lawsuits. The company stated that the connection with the factory had been broken.

Kara Balta’s affinity company produces 11-13 kg standard gold bars, as well as 100 g and 1 kg gold bars and 25 kg standard silver bars.

Some 60 people also broke into the Kyrgyzaltyn building on Tuesday, but volunteer ushers and security guards eventually managed to evict them.

Kyrgyzaltyn is the largest gold mining company in Kyrgyzstan, controlled by the government of the country.
