A fire broke out in the Panevėžys women’s monastery: rescuers handed over the burned woman to the doctors

The fire broke out in the convent of the Congregation of the Sisters of Providence of God on the Path of Providence.

Four fire trucks, a ladder and a staff car were dispatched to the incident. Doctors and policemen also worked at the scene.

The Situation Coordination Division of the Fire and Rescue Department reported that the room on the second floor of the building was on fire, about 10 square meters burned.

According to preliminary data, the fire affected a woman, who burned her face and hair. The victim was referred to a doctor and taken to the hospital.

Rescuers reacted with lightning, prevented the fire from spreading and the fire was extinguished.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched to clarify the cause of the fire.

It will be explained before the trial.
