Such images of traffic violations have been sent to the Šiauliai County Police by the drivers themselves, outraged by their colleagues who behave in such a dangerous manner. Officials themselves have also registered a number of criminals.
Here is the early morning of July 3 in the Pakruojis district. The driver of a Šiauliai company, who was driving a cargo vehicle, was arrested when he crossed a railroad crossing without even stopping. As if there were no Stop signs. When officials from the Pakruojis District Police Station’s Response Division detained him and asked him why he ignored the requirements for the Stop sign, the response was completely out of place for the driver: “I thought about family matters and I did not see it”.
If you dive into family matters, you may not see the train next time. And then you won’t offer a bribe to the train, like the truck driver did this time. The 38-year-old man offered to strike a deal with police officers and gave a 45-euro bribe to avoid responsibility for the rape, police said.
Since the driver did not respond to the officers’ request to withdraw the money, his conduct was treated as an attempt to bribe the officers and a pre-trial investigation was launched against him. The man then won a criminal case and was unable to evade responsibility for a traffic violation.
For infractions of the rules to cross the level crossings, the Code of administrative infractions establishes a fine of one hundred eighty to two hundred and eighty euros and the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for two to six months. As the offender had no valid penalties for a similar crime, he was able to reconcile with the State, so a protocol was drawn up with an administrative order (half the minimum fine) to pay a fine of € 90 and two months to put your driver’s license in the drawer. After all, Šiauliai is a professional driver who eats bread and feeds the family.
That is the price of “poor eyesight”. But it can be even bigger: the life of the driver himself, if, ignoring traffic signals, he enters the intersection even without stopping when the train is right here.
Crossing the level crossing should be done with safety in mind, rather than risking and bribing offending officers.
The fine imposed on officials must be accepted as an expensive lesson to protect yourself and the passengers traveling with them. To bribe an officer, the driver must realize that the next time a train stops him instead of an officer who violates the crossing rules, the situation will be much more tragic.
