A dozen more houses in the port city will be renovated

Modernization will begin with another 19 apartment buildings in the port city. Applications submitted have already been approved and will be reviewed by contractors and administrators. According to experts, Klaipeda residents are ready to take the opportunity to renovate their homes.

In Klaipėda, a significant number of multi-apartment residential buildings will change significantly.

Recently meeting city council members supported the proposal to complement the program to increase the energy efficiency of the city of Klaipeda in apartment buildings.

A total of 19 apartment buildings are included in the program.

It is stated that the implementation of multi-apartment dwelling renovation projects will guarantee a relative reduction in the calculated costs of thermal energy in multi-apartment dwellings built in accordance with the regulations in force before 1993. Technical construction standards will be improved, the aesthetic image of the city and the living environment.

“People’s approval has already been received, the process is underway,” said Diana Gerasimovienė, head of the Klaipėda municipality building management department.

Apartments waiting to be renovated are located throughout the city.

The modernization process in each house is said to move at its own pace.

“Each house is very different. It will depend on how the contract will be purchased in each house,” said a maintenance manager for the modernization project, “said the interlocutor.

The department head said that most of the 19 houses mentioned were looking to modernize.

“We are pleased that the residents of Klaipėda are active, there is no need to search for those who would like to modernize. They all voluntarily applied to the administration,” said D. Gerasimovienė.

During the modernization, the house will be completely renovated: the exterior will be significantly decorated, the balconies will be glazed, the boiler rooms, ventilation, electrical engineering systems, elevators, etc. will be renovated.

“From 2013 to 2020, 143 of 348 houses have already been renovated in Klaipeda. Therefore, more than 200 houses are still in process,” said the interlocutor.
