The trip from the Meridian sailboat to the dock was accompanied by trials, but was successful. Almost drawing the masts at the bottom of the Interchange Bridge, the ship of the operation participants floated on the Dang río River without losses.

It’s time for Meridian to do a special technical inspection. For this reason, yesterday the sailboat was docked.

After the last repair, Meridian has been in the water for seven years.

The Meridian transport operation was led by the captain of the sailboat Brabander Valdemaras Vizbaras from the University of Klaipeda. He was assisted by port tugs.

As the ship sailed under the Exchange Bridge, there was applause from the townspeople. The residents of Klaiparonda enthusiastically watched the extraordinary operation.

On Tuesday morning, after lifting the Exchange Bridge, the ship was carefully moved out of place.

“It just came to our attention then. It was especially difficult to get under the Exchange Bridge. Almost obstructing the bridge supports, the specialists coped with the task. The whole team worked very professionally, both high-altitude climbers who were in the bridge like tugs that listened to Captain V. Vizbaras’s orders. There were some obstacles on the bridge, but when the ship straightened, everything ended well, “said Gediminas Gudavičius, head of the Communication and Information Group of the Bega company.
