In a statement to the media, A. Armonait that indicated that he was not related to that person, and also informed the Department of State Security about it.

“I feel like the last half year before me, an attack of lies and slander has been actively organized on social media and in internet comments, mentioning that my grandfather was a KGB officer. It damages my reputation, it damages my activities political and finally blackens my only grandfather, who is still with us, who is called Kazimieras, and has nothing to do with the KGB, “said A. I am tolerant of criticism, I understand that not everyone can like me, my actions can be criticized and that is correct for everyone. However, knowingly spreading a lie against a person is a crime and organizers must be held accountable for it. From a national security perspective, it is fake news an attack on a Seimas member, undermining not only a person’s reputation, but also confidence in the country’s democratic institutions, “said A. Armonaitė.
