The coldest was in Šiauliai, 17.9 degrees Celsius, and the warmest, in Klaipėda, 23 degrees.
In Šiauliai, the air cooled after a heavy rain, reaching up to 35.4 mm.
On Friday, meteorologists reported that, according to preliminary data, a new absolute record for maximum air temperature was set for July 16: At the Dotnuva weather station, the air warms up to 35.3 degrees Celsius. The previous record for this day was set in Vilnius in 1931, when it warmed to 33.8 degrees.
Most non-coastal weather stations have also improved local records.
The absolute heat record for July and throughout the year in Lithuania is 37.5 degrees Celsius. It was recorded in Zarasai on July 30, 1994.
According to meteorologists, short rains in some parts of the country on Saturday, strong thunderstorms in some places, thunderstorms in some places, hail can fall.
