This was announced on Friday by the Offenburg City Police Press Service.

Four of the detainee’s firearms were seized. The man, who does not have a permanent residence in Germany, was nicknamed the “Rembo Black Forest”. He had a bow with arrows, a knife, and a pistol, and was well oriented in the woods. The man was wearing camouflage clothing.

Police wanted to review their documents Sunday morning, but the man pointed a gun at the officers and forced them to turn in their pistols. Then he disappeared into the forest. The operation, which took place this week in the Openau area, involved a helicopter and hundreds of police. The police urged the locals to stay home.

The detainee has already had problems with the law in the past.
