On Thursday and Friday, the third and final qualifying round will take place at the Hoptrans Arena, specially built for the tournament in Palanga.
The eight teams with the most points will compete in the final round next week.
The Hoptrans 3×3 tournament, to the organization and communication of which FIBA also actively contributes, has already attracted worldwide attention.
“This tournament takes place by the sea, and we organize similar events in other historical places. 3×3 basketball is becoming increasingly popular and attracts not only new players but also new fans. We will also have our moments of fame at the Games. Olympics next year, ”said Zagklis.
The broadcasts of the most beautiful matches and episodes on social networks collect millions of visits, and a wide audience is also reached through TV6 and TV3 Play channels.
“Basketball is a sport with two branches, which are in the Olympic Games. It is very gratifying that a country like Lithuania discovers this modern branch of basketball more and more every year: 3×3 basketball,” said the FIBA Secretary General.
FIBA has given the Hoptrans 3×3 tournament the status of an official competition. Tournament prize fund – 74 thousand. euros
