On Friday, the LVŽS council decided to terminate the agreement with “social workers” on the nomination of joint candidates during the Seimas elections.
The LV®S did not hide the fact that such a decision was made after the “social workers” at the end of the spring session were the only ones in power to support the proposal to liberalize alcohol consumption, allowing the sale of low alcohol content in beach cafes.
According to the report of the “peasants”, the decision to nominate the leader of this party, Naglis Puteikis, together with the candidate of the Party “Welfare Lithuania” to the Seimas is still valid.
Furthermore, according to LVŽS, Antanas Vinkus and Rimantė Šalaševičiūtė, members of the “social workers” faction, will go to the Seimas elections with “peasants”. They were the only ones in the LSDDP to vote against returning alcohol to beach bars.

He offered himself, he canceled himself
G.Kirkilas 15 minutes He said this LVŽS decision was not surprising, although before the vote on the return of alcohol to beach cafes, LVŽS R. Karbauskis President had not warned of such consequences.
“Ramūnas himself offered to nominate several candidates, and withdrew him. There is no great loss for us here, because we need to nominate candidates in all counties to go beyond 5 percent. Barrier, which is what we will do. There is no way to react here. He himself offered, he left. ” 15 minutes G. Kirkilas said.
According to G. Kirkilas, the LSSDP does not intend to revoke its decision to support the candidacy of S. Skvernelis.
I think he changed his mind about his proposal, etc. Now the choice, we are all competitors.
“We don’t cancel anything, we keep our word,” said Kirkilas.
Alcohol: just a pretext?
The LSDDP leader argued that the vote in favor of allowing municipalities to decide on the need to sell alcohol in beach bars does not mean that “social workers” are in favor of alcohol.
“We were not warned. After that, after the vote, I began to interpret, such interpretations do not convince me. We did not vote in favor of alcohol, but in favor of giving municipalities the right to decide for themselves. I think that That’s right, I’m also against alcohol, but the current situation was even worse, because actually I drank a lot more, “Kirkilas said.
Furthermore, the LSDDP president says he believes the vote was just a pretext to end cooperation in the elections.
“It just caught our eye then. I think he changed his mind about his proposal, etc. Now the choice, we are all competitors. That one-member support is really only relevant in the second round. And in the first, it’s just political symbolism here. But they also rejected it. These are already their problems, “Kirkilas said.
Sixth elections will take place in October.
