The FNTT announced last week that it had registered the poisoning of one of its officials, who voluntarily left the service, but did not specify specific positions and surnames.

FNTT media representative Modesta Zdanauskaitė confirmed to BNS that V. Plečkaitis had resigned, but declined to confirm or deny that he had been found intoxicated.

According to her, after the resignation of V.Plečkaitis, the Board is temporarily chaired by the Head of the Compliance Department, Julita Jagla.

“Currently, J. Jagla, the Chief Compliance Officer, is in charge, from the day the former Chief V. Plečkaitis left,” said M. Zdanauskaitė.

“July 7 was the last day of work. He left voluntarily,” added the FNTT spokeswoman.

Without naming a specific person, FNNT reported on Facebook last week that the check was carried out based on information received by the Immunity Division.

“All necessary steps were taken immediately: the official was immediately inspected and, in case of intoxication, he was removed from his current position the same day. (…) the official voluntarily left the Office, an official inspection was started , at the end of which a disciplinary sanction will be imposed, ”the report reads.

V.Plečkaitis has been the head of the FNTT Money Laundering Prevention Board since August 2018. He started working for FNTT in 2002.
