Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, who defended the champion title, won his first victory in the Styrian GP race without much difficulty.

Brit outpaced teammate Valtteri Bott, who started fourth, and Red Bull Max Verstappen, who finished third.

During the start, Hamilton successfully moved from first place and maintained his leadership position. Contrary to the leaders, the first round was extremely unsuccessful for the Ferrari team drivers. Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc did not escape contact on the third inning. Both cars were damaged after the collision. S. Vettel retired from competition already in the first round, and C. Leclerc, who won a few more laps, was also forced to finish his performance.

When the safety car pulled out of the track and the race continued, Hamilton began to distance himself from M. Verstappen, who was driving second at the time, without much difficulty. Meanwhile, V. Bottas passed Carlos Sainz after several laps and began to chase said M. Verstappen. The latter was the first of the leaders to make his first and last stop in the 24-hour service area.

The Mercedes drivers made the stops later. Hamilton did it on lap 27, and Bott did it on seven laps.

When the race came to an end, Botti managed to overtake Verstappen. With less than 10 laps to go, the Finns outnumbered the Dutch, although second place was not enjoyed for long. Verstappen regained the lost position, but lost it again in the next round. The victory was easily won by L. Hamilton. V. Bottas finished second and remained the leader of the championship. Meanwhile, with a damaged front wing, M. Verstappen crossed the finish line in third.

Alex Bull Albon, the second Red Bull driver, withstood the pressure and attacks of Sergio Pérez’s first trio. Unlike a week ago, the Thai managed to finish and win fourth place. Meanwhile, in the fight against the opponent, S. Pérez, who damaged the front wing, lost his position to the opponent at the end of the race and finished sixth. In recent shifts, he was hit by McLaren spokesman Lando Norris.

His teammate Lance Stroll and his only Renault driver Daniel Ricciardo finished immediately behind Perezo.

Carlos Sainz, who won the fastest lap, and Daniil Kvyat, the AlphaTauri team driver, finished in the top ten.
