The 207-cm-old, 22-year-old heavy forward has had a contract with Kaunas “Žalgiris” since 2014 and proved his strength in the main team not only in the Lithuanian Basketball League (Betsafe-LKL), but also in the Euroleague. For the past two seasons, the senior has defended Klaipeda’s “Neptune” honor.
When LKL decided to end the season due to the coronavirus in mid-March, G. Masiulis cut hands with the Frankfurt Skyliners team in late May and ended in 2019-2020. season. At the German championships, G. Masiulis scored 11 points in 19 minutes, bounced 5 balls, and collected 9 utility points each.
At the LKL championships, G. Masiulis scored 10.3 points in 23 minutes, grabbed 4.1 balls, made 1 effective pass and scored 14 profit points. In the FIBA Champions League, G. Masiulis also showed solid statistics: 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1 assists and 9.5 utility points in 22 minutes.
G.Masiulis played the best game on March 8 against Šiauliai, when he scored 16 points in 22 minutes, grabbed 6 balls, blocked up to 7 shots from opponents and scored 29 utility points.
Lietkabelis also has contracts with Marius Valinskas, Tadas Vaičiūnas, Vytenis Lipkevičius, Margiris Normantas, Erikas Venskus, Marinas Maričius, Gabrielis Maldūnas, Troy Barnies and Paulius Valinskas for the upcoming season. The team will be coached by Nenad Chanak.
