According to the Minister’s Advisor, the Ministry of Justice must pay this amount within three months of receiving the sentence and “transfer the credits to the injured party’s personal payment account.”

According to B. Zaborovska-Zdanovič, the Interior Ministry has so far not considered recourse to claim compensation for the damage caused by the state to the people who ran the institutions at the time and did not provide adequate solutions.

“Until now, the Interior Ministry has focused on the proper execution of the judicial decision, the operational organization of the damage process,” said the minister’s adviser.

According to a law passed in 2017, the state can recover the costs incurred to compensate the damages caused by the public authorities of those responsible.

If the court determines that the damage was intentionally caused, the full amount paid can be recovered, and if it is not intentionally proven, the state can recover a maximum of nine guilty person average wages.

In late June, the delfi.lt portal announced that the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania had ruled in a final and final appeal that the General Assistance Center (BPC), the Communications Regulatory Authority and the Ministry of the Interior would jointly reimburse 250,000 LTL . damage resulting from the suffering of a girl brutally murdered.

The court found that state authorities had failed to take the steps required by law to locate the girl who had called BPC, which helped prevent a tragedy.

A seventeen-year-old boy was killed on the morning of September 21, 2013. By illegally depriving them of their freedom and opportunity to resist, the men used sexual abuse against a minor. To cover up these brutal crimes, victims of the defenseless state were soon killed by defendants by burning a live car in the trunk.

The girl, who called the General Assistance Center before her death, said that two men had raped and kidnapped her. She claimed she was being transported in the trunk of the car, but authorities were unable to locate the caller. The girl interacted with BPC and the police for about an hour, but was not rescued.

The girls’ murderers are sentenced to life in prison.

After the event in Dembava, his long-term boss, Artūras Kedavičius, resigned from the post of head of the General Assistance Center.
