The Nida airfield will be available to gliders, helicopters, and light aircraft (ULO). Nida Air Park will be responsible for the maintenance of the aerodrome.

To allow small aircraft to land in Nida again, the work foreseen in the forest management project was carried out, weather vanes and fire fighting equipment were installed, radio communication was installed, boundaries were marked and other necessary work was carried out .

After the Commission’s evaluation of the special requirements, the Neringa Municipality Administration received an Aerodrome Certificate of Fitness, which states that the infrastructure in Nida meets the requirements for aerodromes and can be used for civil aircraft operations.

In 1992, after the restoration of Independence, the Neringa City Board turned over the fully equipped airport to the Neringa Department of Education, Culture and Sports.
