According to the report, D. Nausėdienė thanked Germany for its solidarity in helping Lithuanian citizens go abroad at the start of the pandemic, and congratulated Germany on starting her presidency of the Council of the EU.
E. Budenbender was interested in the initiatives and activities of D. Nausėdien la during the quarantine: LRT lessons for children, the initiative of a bank of potential blood donors, the promotion of children’s physical activity in cooperation with the National Olympic Committee from Lithuania.
The first ladies also discussed possible directions for cooperation, especially in the field of vocational training, in which Germany is the leader, as well as an international multilateral conference initiated by D. Nausėdienė, to be held in Vilnius on June 3. The aim was to update the problems of climate change, social and educational problems, and share the best practices of the countries.
The ladies expressed their determination to continue and develop more closely all cooperation initiatives in light of the global situation.
D. Nausėdienė and the wife of German President E. Budenbender met in August last year during the visit of the Lithuanian President to Berlin.
