Dainius Adomaitis, who was looking for a team, had entered the radar of Monaco’s basketball leaders, but the club expressed confidence in Zvezdan Mitrovičius, who had previously worked.

The 50-year-old man, who left ASVEL in Vilerbana, was the main candidate to take over, which belonged to Sasha Obradovic, who went to Crvena Zvezda from Belgrade after the season.
Mitrovich worked in Monaco in 2015-2018 and won the Coupe de France every year. In 2017 and 2018, the Montenegrin led the club to the FIBA Champions League quartet and was recognized as the best coach in the French league.
ASVEL, Mitrovich’s coach, achieved 10 wins in 28 rounds in the Euroleague.
Since 2018, the Monaco team has been competing in the European Cup: it stopped at the Top 16 stage of the first season, and this year it was one of the eight strongest. This result guaranteed the team a place in the European Cup for next season.
In the French championship, the Monaco team finished at the top of the standings: with ASVEL and JDA from Dijon, they recorded a win-loss ratio of 21-4.
