15 minutes The journalist had the opportunity to fly on the company’s first trip to Palanga and calculate for himself how long it would take to go from his home in the Vilnius Baltupiai district to the beginning of Jonas Basanavičiaus Street.

He took a taxi to Vilnius airport and, after landing at Palanga airport, took a bus to the center.

The entire trip, to my surprise, took around four hours, and in financial terms it would cost 57 euros.

It is true that it is probably possible to get to the center of Palanga earlier. It depends on whether you have travel luggage or if the flight itself is not delayed, which may require at least 20 minutes for the intercity bus.

The journalist returned to Vilnius the next morning, by train. From Palanga to the Klaipeda railway station there was a car-sharing platform, and from the Vilnius railway station, a taxi.

In total, the trip took around five hours and thirty minutes and cost 32 euros each way.

Although traveling by train is cheaper, it is also slower. And how would a car and a bus compete with an airplane?

According to the theoretical calculations of Google maps, the trip to Palanga from the Baltupiai district can take about three hours and thirty minutes. If we assume that a car burns 6 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers, such a trip would cost around 20 euros each way.

And a bus trip could cost depending on the carrier and the time chosen. Ticket prices range from € 21 to € 26.50. It is true that the cost of reaching the Vilnius bus station and from the Palanga bus station to the center must be estimated. If you travel by taxi and bus, it could cost around € 7 extra.

Admittedly, this is not the fastest way to travel. According to bus ticket companies, a trip from Vilnius to Palanga can take anywhere from four hours and fifteen minutes to four hours and forty minutes.
