R.Jasiulionis, who has been broadcasting the program on Žinių radiju and Laisvės TV so far, will replace Aistis Zabarauskas, who resigned from the Presidency, as head of the Communication Group.
The Presidency has not yet formally confirmed this information.
Andrius Tapinas, the head of Laisvės TV, confirmed on his Facebook account that R. Jasiulionis is going to the presidency.
“Ridas Jasiulionis, journalist for Laisvės TV, becomes communication manager for President Gitanas Nausėda. Congratulations and I am glad that Laisvės TV is ready to help Daukantas Square in difficult times,” wrote A. Tapinas.
In 2009 R. Jasiulionis was the spokesperson for the then Conservative Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius, and for four months he headed the Department of Public Information in the Prime Minister’s Office.
R. Jasiulionis has also edited the weekly Atgimimas.
R. Jasiulionis, 50, is a graduate actor, belongs to the Vilnius Chamber Theater, has acted in the television series “Uninvited Love”, “Road Home”, “Gedimino 11”, “Taste of Snow”.
