Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis does not believe that members of the Seimas should work in accordance with the laws that regulate labor relations. In his opinion, it would be more expensive for the state.

In his opinion, the work of Seimas members will be evaluated by voters during the elections.

The draft Law on Rights, Duties and Activity Guarantees of Seimas Members seeks to implement the Resolution of the Constitutional Court of 2004. July 1 resolution and establish the duties, rights and guarantees of Seimas members by a separate law.
Currently, the activities of a Seimas member are regulated by the Seimas Statute, the Government Law and the Law on the Remuneration of Politicians and State Officials.
