According to Delfi, on June 28, the police received a report that a sexual crime had been committed against a child in Grigiškės.
Police officers detained two suspects (born in 1999 and 1996) at the scene. As editorial staff were able to discover, drugs were also found during the scene inspection, suspected of being “herbs”.
According to preliminary data, the heinous crime was committed before a man born in 2000 was raped anally.
Vilnius police declined to provide information on the incident because such crimes are not disclosed to the media. However, Delfi managed to contact the prosecutor who led the event, Kristina Rekertiene.
K. Rekertienė, the prosecutor of the Vilnius District Prosecutor’s Office of the Vilnius Regional Prosecutor’s Office, also stated that she would not comment on the sex crime in Grigiškės. However, the prosecutor confirmed that a pre-trial investigation was initiated.
“The pre-trial investigation has recently started and I really can’t provide any information,” prosecutor K. Rekertienė said of Delfi.
The suspect is serving in the military.
It turns out that the soldier is suspected of an heinous crime. In the Lithuanian Armed Forces, Delfi confirmed that he was aware of this event. An army spokesman said the suspect was a soldier in the professional military service and that he had received no penalty through his service.
As a pre-trial investigation is currently underway, the military will not conduct an internal investigation into the suspect. A military spokesman said that if the court found the soldier guilty, the contract for professional military service with him would be immediately terminated.
In addition, it turned out that the prosecutor had not gone to court over the soldier’s arrest. He informed the army that he would continue to provide professional service.
Suspects are not guilty until the court finds guilt.
