It will also address environmental requirements, conditions for the use of telecommunications, humanitarian aid, search and rescue operations, and other issues.
According to KAM, the signing of this agreement was initiated by Germany.
The agreement will enter into force once it has been ratified by Seimas.
Until now, Lithuania had concluded such an agreement only with the United States.
Germany leads and allocates the largest number of troops for deterrence and defense purposes to the international battle group of the NATO Front Forces Battalion deployed to Rukla in 2017, and the Lithuanian Armed Forces Mechanized Infantry Brigade is assigned to one of the Divisions of the German Armed Forces.
Lithuania is also cooperating with Germany in the purchase of new and existing modernizing weapons: “Vilkas” infantry fighting vehicles, PzH2000 self-propelled howitzer, M577 armored vehicles and other parts of weapons.
