Two people were admitted on Sunday for humanitarian reasons, the State Border Guard Service (SBGS) said.
On Sunday, immigrants from Belarus were not allowed to enter Ignalina, Švenčionys and Varėna districts or Druskininkai municipality. Most of the foreigners planned to enter Western Europe illegally through the border section through the Druskininkai municipality (eight people) and into the Švenčionys district, seven.
According to the SBGS report, a migrant, seen by border guards crossing the border at an illegal location in Druskininkai municipality, fell to the ground as if unconscious, and border guards called an ambulance.
When the migrant was transferred to the hospital, he was subjected to tests and examinations, and it turned out that the undocumented person was faking and imitating the loss of consciousness. According to SBGS, it was stated that he is healthy and does not need medical help. A foreigner is not admitted to Lithuania.
On Sunday night two signal rockets were fired at the municipality of Druskininkai, on the Belarusian side. In the evening, a shot was fired on the border on the Belarusian side near the Ignalina district.
The actions of official weapons, special measures or physical coercion were not used by the Lithuanian border guards and the soldiers who assisted them on the last day. Border control on the Lithuanian side is carried out under a reinforced regime.
According to the SBGS, 44 of those foreigners were denied entry on Saturday last week, 36 on Friday, 50 on Thursday, 24 on Wednesday and Tuesday 19. Two dozen foreigners did not enter Lithuania on Monday .
