The hospital has 86 beds for COVID-19 patients, currently 78 patients, 12 of whom are in resuscitation.

The hospital announces that as the number of patients with this disease increases, the wards for them are expanded and scheduled work is reorganized: scheduled surgery services are temporarily restricted.

According to the hospital, patients are informed about the current situation and operations and procedures are temporarily canceled. They will be contacted if the epidemiological situation changes.

The rest of the assistance is provided to the patients of the Šiauliai Republican Hospital in the usual way.

There are currently three rooms in the facility for patients with COVID-19 infection.

“The need for specialists who have to work in those departments: we have increased resuscitation resources for COVID-19 patients, the number of anesthesiologists and rescuers remains the same, the need is greater and the number of patients is increasing,” Sonata Tenytė said on television.

In the Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda regions, planned medical services have not yet stopped, although the number of coronavirus-infected patients in hospitals is increasing, BNS informed representatives of medical institutions on Friday.
